Are you ready to lead strategic commercial opportunities that shape the future of Children's Services? As Bid Manager, you’ll play a senior strategic role leading Sirona’s commercial, procurement and business development activity within Children’s Services and across the wider organisation. Working closely with the Divisional Director and Executive colleagues, you’ll lead the development of complex, high-value bids and tenders, bringing together clinical, operational, financial and corporate expertise to create compelling, innovative and commercially robust submissions.

You’ll work with a high degree of autonomy, influencing and coordinating multidisciplinary teams in demanding and highly regulated procurement environments. Your expertise will help identify new opportunities, support organisational growth and sustainability, and contribute to service improvement. You’ll also provide expert advice to senior leaders, using your advanced analytical, communication and influencing skills to interpret complex information and develop effective organisational responses.

A key part of the role will be the strategic development and optimisation of digital systems supporting bid management and commercial activity, using technology, reporting and knowledge management to strengthen governance, collaboration and data-driven decision-making. This is a fixed-term post for 18 months due to the timetable of the re-tender programme.

Main duties of the job:

  • The successful candidate will lead the end-to-end management of bids, tenders and proposals, with a particular focus on NHS and healthcare opportunities.
  • They will be responsible for developing high-quality, persuasive and compliant submissions, translating complex technical information into compelling bid responses, and ensuring all bids meet client requirements and governance standards.
  • The role will work closely with clinical, operational and executive teams to coordinate bid activity, develop winning strategies, manage risks, and drive continuous improvement in bid success rates.
  • Responsibilities also include overseeing bid planning and project management, maintaining bid resources and content libraries, supporting pipeline development and growth opportunities, ensuring compliance with procurement regulations, and developing policies and processes to strengthen organisational bid capability.
  • The postholder will also provide day-to-day line management and support for direct reports.

Qualifications and Training:

  • Educated to Masters Degree level or equivalent
  • Specialist project management knowledge or experience to Masters Level or equivalent demonstrable experience
  • APMP Qualification

Skills, Experience & Knowledge:

  • Proven extensive experience as a Bid Writer and Manager within the healthcare or public sector, with a track record of contributing to successful bids.
  • Strong understanding of NHS procurement processes and experience in writing for public sector tenders.
  • Experience working with SMEs and internal stakeholders to develop high-quality bid content.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to create compelling and persuasive content.
  • Excellent project management skills and proven experience of executing bid processes and governance frameworks with precision and accountability.
  • Strong organisational skills, able to manage competing priorities and ensure the timely delivery of bids.
