We're excited to be recruiting a new Therapy Assistant to join our Specialist Community Neurology Service. This rewarding role will be primarily based in North Somerset, with opportunities to support colleagues and patients across Bristol and South Gloucestershire when required. As a Therapy Assistant, you'll play a vital role in helping people with neurological conditions live as independently and confidently as possible. Working alongside our experienced multidisciplinary team—including Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, and MS Nurses—you'll provide practical support directly in patients' homes. No two days are the same. You'll assist with delegated therapy programmes, monitor progress, carry out assessments, and help create resources that support effective treatment plans and positive outcomes for patients. Main duties of the job:

  • Carry out delegated interventions that will involve both clinical and non-clinical work.
  • Supervise activities and monitor performance of set delegated plans from registered clinicians.
  • Escalate any concerns.
  • Complete falls risk screening.
  • Support with double ups of visits for safety or manual handling reasons.
  • Complete notes in accordance with Sirona standards.
  • Assess basic bits of equipment.
  • Support the admin team as needed.

Person specification:

  • Able to work without direct supervision.
  • Able to make correct decisions within a set of clear guidelines.
  • Able to prioritise tasks.
  • Experience of direct patient care.
  • Experience of team working.
  • Recent community experience.
  • NVQ level 3 in health and social care or willingness to work towards.
  • Full driving licence and access to a car in work time.
