Join our rotational team to deliver evidence-based occupational therapy interventions. Manage a defined patient caseload, support patients’ independence, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and contribute to safe discharges.
Main duties of the job:
- To perform occupational therapy assessments to aid diagnosis and treatment of patients who may have diverse presentations and complex physical and psychological conditions, including orthopaedic, vascular, neurological, cognitive problems.
- To assist in the discharge planning process as part of the wider MDT.
- To hold responsibility for own case load and be responsible for a defined area of the service or a particular patient type, working with supervision where required.
- Supervision takes the form of regular formal training, regular clinical supervision sessions and access to informal supervision from senior staff.
- To undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner.
- To provide support/supervision for occupational therapy students, assistant practitioners, rehab support workers and activities co‑ordinator.
- To assist Senior therapists in service development, including the development of group.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Occupational Therapy and registered with HCPC.
- Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD) maintained in portfolio.
- Evidence of Postgraduate study/course.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience:
- Able to make clinically reasoned judgement when working with a variety of conditions.
- Able to work autonomously, and ability to know when to seek appropriate advice/guidance from senior staff.
- Able to adapt communication for individuals with communication difficulties.
- Community work demonstrating a broad range of clinical undergraduate experience.
- Experience of the application of health, safety and risk management policies.
