Job overview:
Specialist Community Public Health Nurse Student (SCPHN) starting September 2026. This is a one-year fixed term contract & fully funded post to undertake defined project training and is for 37.5 hours a week. Please note this will also be study at Masters level.
Main duties of the job:
- As a SCPHN student, you will be an NMC Registered Nurse or Midwife and will complete a 52-week programme at Masters level to gain the professional qualification of SCPHN (50% in practice and 50% theory lead by UWE).
- Included in the 52 weeks, the student will gain practical experience and exposure to a range of experiences within the service.
- The practice assessor will assess achievement of overall proficiency for entry to the SCPHN part of the register.
- Contact with families is in their school, home and other community venues and you will be required to attend the university for academic purposes.
- Students will have access to additional learning within the organisation including learning sets and role specific training alongside the public health nursing teams.
