Sirona care and health operate multi-professionally led, place based urgent care facilities across Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire. South Bristol Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC) offers same day urgent care for minor injuries and minor illnesses. The unit is open 8am - 8pm 7 days a week. We currently have a vacancy at South Bristol UTC for a motivated clinician looking to gain experience in an urgent care "front door" service. You will be undertaking the full assessment, management and referral of a diverse group of service users with urgent injury and illness presentations. The role includes undertaking initial assessments, remote consultations and supporting service improvement through audit and project work. We offer access to regular internal training and external higher education developmental opportunities. We are a friendly and experienced team seeking a reliable, enthusiastic, and self-motivated individual who has the required experience to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
Main duties of the job:
- Provide patient centred care, including assessment, shared care planning and appropriate referral of service users with indirect supervision.
- Undertake a variety of consultation types including face to face, telephone and video.
- Utilise advanced clinical examination skills to support diagnostic reasoning and patient centred care plans.
- Support unit safety by effectively carrying out initial assessment and prioritisation of presenting patients.
- Provide clinical advice and support to colleagues, including formal mentoring of healthcare students.
- Support UTC management and colleagues to deliver robust clinical governance and service improvement programs.
- Use your skills, knowledge, and experience to deliver safe and effective care to our service users.

Person specification:
Experience:
- Experience in emergency, urgent care, minor injury units, walk in centres or relevant community settings.
- Autonomous but supported practice within a health care environment - history taking, examination skills, diagnostic reasoning and planning of patient centred care plans.
- Demonstrate ability to work with complex clients and situations, showing ability to problem solve.
- High level verbal and written communication.
- Experience interpreting plain film X-ray images.
- Experience or qualification relevant to remote clinical assessment.
- Experience using Patient Group Directions.
- Experience undertaking advanced wound care and/or limb/joint reduction and immobilisation.
Qualifications:
- NMC/ HCPC registration.
- Completion of (relevant) undergraduate study.
- ILS/PILS.
- Evidence of studying at M level.
- Evidence of relevant post graduate study (e.g. PACR, APICA, PADRAP).
