Main Duties of the Job
- To perform occupational therapy assessments to aid diagnosis and treatment of patients with diverse presentations and complex physical and psychological conditions, including orthopaedic, vascular, neurological, and cognitive problems.
- To assist in the discharge planning process as part of the wider MDT.
- To hold responsibility for your own caseload and be responsible for a defined area of the service or a particular patient type, working with supervision where required, including regular formal training, clinical supervision sessions and access to informal supervision from senior staff.
- To undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner.
- To provide support and supervision for occupational therapy students, assistant practitioners, rehab support workers and activities coordinators.
- To assist senior therapists in service development, including group development activities.

Essential
- Degree in Occupational Therapy and registered with HCPC
- Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD) maintained in portfolio

- Evidence of Postgraduate study/course
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
Essential
- Able to make clinically reasoned judgement when working with a variety of conditions
- Competent IT skills
- Able to work autonomously, and know when to seek appropriate advice or guidance from senior staff
- Able to adapt communication for individuals with communication difficulties
Desirable
- Community work demonstrating a broad range of clinical undergraduate experience
- Experience of the application of health, safety and risk management policies
