Location: South East London / Hybrid. Travel required to other sites within South East London (Kent/London borders).

This is a pivotal leadership role with real scope to shape workforce strategy, organisational development, and people outcomes across a multi-site healthcare setting.

The opportunity

Reporting into the CEO, you will lead the design and delivery of a modern, integrated workforce and OD strategy. This is a highly visible role, working closely with executive stakeholders to drive cultural change, improve performance, and embed a people-first approach across the organisation.

You will:

  • Lead organisation-wide HR and OD initiatives aligned to strategic priorities.
  • Provide strategic advice on OD initiatives and strategic change management, using workforce data to inform decision-making and planning.
  • Design and implement performance management, workforce planning and development frameworks.
  • Drive staff engagement, culture and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide expert advice, challenge and coaching at Board and executive level.
  • Complex case oversight, including both NHS Medical & Dental, Agenda for Change (AfC) and non AfC terms and conditions cases.
  • Responsible for the provision of high quality strategic and operational workforce support to ensure best practice people management and legal compliance with employment law.
  • Lead workforce planning, recruitment (including controls) and retention planning.
  • Co-design and deliver within respective areas cutting-edge OD interventions to support necessary organisational and service developments, in an inclusive way which builds understanding and capability, which have a significant impact on teams.

About you

You are a credible, commercially minded HR & OD leader who combines strategic thinking with delivery focus. You will bring:

  • CIPD Chartered membership (or equivalent) and postgraduate-level expertise.
  • Proven experience working with Board/Executive stakeholders.
  • A strong track record in delivering large-scale HR/OD programmes.
  • Deep expertise across workforce strategy, performance, and organisational development.
  • Outstanding influencing, communication and relationship-building skills.
  • The ability to operate effectively in a complex, fast-paced environment.
  • Experience within the healthcare sector advantageous.
