Job: Payroll & HR Administrator
Location: Dartford / Hybrid Working
Employment type: Temporary (Ongoing 9-12 months)
Hours: 30 hours per week, flexible hours accommodated between 8:00 am - 6:00 pm
Pay rate: £30,000 - £35,000 FTE equivalent, paid at the equivalent temporary hourly rate
Are you an experienced Payroll and HR Administrator who is immediately available and looking for a varied and hands-on opportunity? Do you thrive in a busy HR function where no two days are the same and your attention to detail and organisational skills make a real difference? Are you someone who is comfortable supporting payroll processing and administration whilst also supporting the wider HR team with generalist administration?
We are working with a well-established, innovative organisation to find a Payroll & HR Administrator to join their HR function on an ongoing temporary basis, envisaged to run for nine to twelve months. This is a busy and varied role reporting to the HR Manager, supporting both payroll operations and day-to-day HR administration.
The role will include:
- Processing and inputting payroll data for approximately 230 employees on a monthly payroll cycle, working in partnership with outsourced payroll provider Moorepay
- Liaising with HMRC and ensuring monthly submissions including FPS and EPS are submitted accurately and on time
- Processing payroll data including shift, overtime, salary sacrifice, maternity and bonus payments
- Maintaining and updating the HR Management System and generating reports for managers and benefit renewals
- Administering pension auto-enrolment including starters, leavers and changes
- Coordinating new starter onboarding including issuing offer letters, contracts and job descriptions, setting up on HRMS, first day inductions and arranging drug and alcohol tests
- Supporting maternity leave processes including initial employee meetings, risk assessments and maintaining contact
- Coordinating occupational health activity including annual medicals, referrals, bi-annual office medicals and specialist clinics
- Providing advice and guidance to managers and employees on benefits, sickness and employment matters
- Preparation and distribution of HR metrics and reporting
- General HR administration including employee documentation and communications
About you:
- Proven experience in a combined payroll and HR administration role
- Confident processing and inputting payroll data
- Working knowledge of HMRC processes and statutory reporting obligations
- Experienced with HR and payroll management systems
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
- Confident communicator, comfortable advising managers and employees on HR and payroll matters
- Immediately available or on a short notice period
The package:
A competitive hourly rate equivalent to £30,000 - £35,000 per annum, working 30 hours per week with flexible start and finish times between 8:00 am and 6:00 pm. Hybrid working is available, with a base in Dartford.
