Salary: £60,000 - £66,000
The Role
Our client is looking for an experienced and proactive QHSE Manager to lead and manage Quality, Health & Safety, and Environmental standards across the business.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, industry standards, and company procedures, while driving a strong culture of continuous improvement, quality, and workplace safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain the company's QHSE systems, policies, and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with relevant health & safety and environmental legislation.
- Lead internal audits, inspections, risk assessments, and corrective actions.
- Monitor and improve quality standards across manufacturing and operational processes.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and customer complaints.
- Develop and deliver QHSE training and promote a positive safety culture.
- Manage environmental requirements, including waste management and sustainability initiatives.
- Maintain relevant documentation, records, and compliance reports.
- Liaise with customers, suppliers, external auditors, and regulatory bodies.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce risk, improve quality, and increase operational efficiency.
- Lead quality department including engineers and inspectors.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Previous experience in a QHSE/HSEQ management role, ideally within metal pressing, manufacturing or engineering.
- Strong knowledge of health & safety, quality, and environmental legislation.
- Experience with audits, risk assessments, investigations, and corrective actions.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Work with the senior management team to advance the business to next milestone.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
- Relevant QHSE qualifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent are highly desirable.
- Good knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100, NADCAP and SABRe.
