We are working with a client in the Black Country, who are well-established as a market leader in the architectural interiors industry. They are now looking for an experienced Estimator to join their team. Reporting to the Directors, but working alongside another Estimator, the role will involve: The preparation of cost estimates and submit quotations for clients. Assess supplier quotes and their suitability. Assist with project planning, communicating the project requirements at the start of the project. Attend meetings on site when required. Build and maintain relationships with both the client and external customers. Ensure compliance with regulations and standards. Working with clients, engineers, and designers to deliver accurate quotes that suit the project requirements. You will be liaising with Quantity Surveyors on site, talking to customers and suppliers and quoting for projects between £150k – £2.5m. All the company’s business is repeat business so there will be no cold calling/sales involved. You will be responsible for the whole project from cradle to grave, including any amendments or adjustments required mid-way. The ideal candidate for the Estimator role will have: Minimum 5 years’ previous experience gained within a similar role, with a solid working knowledge of architectural metalwork, secondary steelwork, and the construction industry. The ability to read and understand technical drawings – CAD knowledge would be advantageous. Good organisational and time management skills. An enthusiastic, self-motivated, and committed attitude. Problem solving skills and be an analytical thinker. Good IT skills, using Microsoft Office suite. A good working knowledge of contract conditions, CDM regulations, design management, programme, and risk management. The ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with both customers and staff at all levels. In return the Estimator can expect to receive a very competitive salary, dependent on experience and past work history; 33 days holiday entitlement, company pension, a company mobile phone.
