We are seeking a highly motivated and analytically strong Pricing Actuary to support delivering strategic pricing initiatives across our London Market Specialty Business. The role will report to the Senior Pricing Actuary and sits within the International Pricing & Planning team as part of the CUO Office.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Complex Risk Pricing: Supporting the wider pricing team in the analysis, pricing and structuring of large and complex insurance and reinsurance contracts across multiple lines of business.
- Pricing Tool Development & Improvement: Working closely with class underwriters, contribute to the development and enhancement of pricing tools ensuring alignment with best practice methodologies. Help introduce new exposure models and improve parameterisation processes.
- Portfolio Steering & Analytics: Conduct analyses and investigations that inform growth strategies and remediation efforts. Participate in the monitoring of key accounts and support regular performance reviews with internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Business Planning Support: Support the production of planning materials, including loss ratio setting and analysis of key drivers such as loss trends and inflation. Contribute to the loss ratio volatility analysis needed for the capital model.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance pricing maturity and capabilities. Contribute to initiatives that support our ambition to be a best-in-class pricing function. Engage in peer review processes and seek and give feedback to develop your technical and professional skills as well as those of others.
- Contribute cross-functionally: Collaborate with colleagues across actuarial, underwriting, and other business functions to deliver high-quality insights and contribute to cross-functional projects.

Your skills and abilities should include:
- Newly qualified actuary with at least 3+ years of experience in London Market pricing.
- Practical experience of using a range of pricing techniques particularly for Lloyd’s/London Market risks.
- Experience of Political Violence & Terror and/or Aviation advantageous and experience in Casualty, Marine or Energy also considered.
- Experience in working with underwriters to assess and price risks using a variety of techniques.
- Experience in building and enhancing exposure-based pricing tools.
- Excellent MS Excel skills. Power BI and experience in a coding language (SQL, Python) desirable.
- Curious, open-minded and proactive with a desire to continuously improve and learn new skills.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to delivering high quality work.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
