We are seeking an IT Product Leader to be accountable for our Assumed and Ceded Reinsurance platforms. This role serves as the primary IT relationship owner and delivery lead for the Assumed and Ceded Reinsurance platforms, ensuring that IT services and change initiatives are delivered effectively in line with underwriting priorities, operational requirements, regulatory obligations, and enterprise standards. In close partnership with business and IT teams, this role is responsible for coordinating and driving the delivery of platform enhancements, operational improvements, and priority change initiatives across the reinsurance estate. The role is focused on delivery execution and service oversight, managing demand, supporting end-to-end implementation, and ensuring the stability, performance, and continuous improvement of Core Systems.
Your responsibilities will include the following:
- Business Partnership & Delivery Coordination
- Serve as the primary IT point of contact for Global Assumed and Ceded Reinsurance stakeholders across Underwriting, Claims, Operations, Finance, and Risk.
- Work closely with business stakeholders to understand priorities, manage demand, and coordinate delivery of technology changes.
- Establish strong working relationships with key stakeholders across global markets to support effective delivery and service continuity.
- Ensure IT engagement supports timely delivery, operational effectiveness, and agreed service levels.
- Core Systems Ownership
- Own the end-to-end delivery and operational support for the Assumed and Ceded Reinsurance platforms.
- Ensure platforms remain stable, resilient, and fit for purpose in line with operational and regulatory requirements.
- Manage platform changes, enhancements, and system improvements, balancing delivery needs with production stability.
- Support production operations by partnering with Data and Finance teams to maintain consistent data flows, reporting integrity, and timely issue resolution.
- Maintain and manage the delivery backlog and implementation plan for Reinsurance Systems in line with agreed business priorities.
- Ensure all change activity is delivered through the appropriate Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including requirements, design, testing, release, and post-implementation support.
- Translate business requests into clear, deliverable work items and coordinate with IT teams to support estimation, sequencing, and execution.
- Balance delivery of new requirements with production support, platform stability, and regulatory obligations.
- Ensure changes are delivered in accordance with enterprise standards, controls, and release processes.
- Demand Management & Portfolio Oversight
- Own the demand lifecycle across Reinsurance Systems, from intake and assessment through prioritization, scheduling, and delivery.
- Work closely with Architecture, Data, Cyber Security, and Engineering teams to define appropriate solutions.
- Lead a team of Business Analysts, Production Support Administrators and System Developers to design and deliver solutions, enhancements, defect management, and upgrades based on agreed upon plans and end-user issues.
- Provide clear visibility into the delivery pipeline, resource constraints, dependencies, and trade-offs.
- Delivery & Service Oversight
- Oversee end-to-end delivery of Reinsurance Systems initiatives, ensuring controlled execution, issue management, and stakeholder communication.
- Own or coordinate production support activities, including incident triage, service issue resolution, and post-release stabilization.
- Monitor platform performance, service issues, incidents, and technical debt to support reliable day-to-day operations.
- Establish clear accountability for delivery and support outcomes across internal teams and vendors.
- Lead a team of Business Analysts, Production Support Administrators and System Developers to design and deliver solutions, enhancements, defect management, and upgrades based on agreed upon plans and end-user issues.
- Ensure all Reinsurance Systems comply with regulatory requirements across jurisdictions, including reinsurance and bordereaux reporting obligations.
- Support operational resilience, data governance, and audit requirements (e.g., SOX, internal/external audits).
- Represent Reinsurance Systems in enterprise governance, architecture, and prioritization forums.
- Partner closely with Risk, Compliance, and GRC teams.
- Own budget oversight, forecasting, and cost transparency for Reinsurance Systems.
- Ensure disciplined investment decisions with clear value realization.
- Oversee key technology vendors supporting reinsurance platforms, ensuring performance and accountability.
- Drive vendor optimization and commercial efficiency.
Your Skills and Abilities Should Include:
- Required Experience
- Significant experience in IT leadership, business relationship management, or technology delivery roles.
- Strong understanding of Reinsurance operations.
- Experience leading teams directly or indirectly to achieve significant business results from systems implementation.
- Proven ability to manage senior stakeholders and complex demand portfolios.
- Experience working in regulated environments with multiple legal entities.
