The Commercial Manager / Senior Quantity Surveyor opportunity
We are interested in hearing from experienced Senior Quantity Surveyors and Commercial Managers who are looking for their next career opportunity and would be interested in working on Therme Manchester.
You will play an important role in the commercial management of the project, working closely with the wider project team, subcontractors and supply chain to ensure successful delivery.
This is an opportunity to work on a major, complex construction project in Manchester, with the potential to develop your career within one of the UK's leading construction businesses.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and support the commercial management of the project across the various stages of delivery.
Manage a range of commercial activities including procurement, tendering, contract administration, variations and subcontract management through to final account.
Prepare accurate forecasting, reporting and commercial information.
Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities.
Proactively minimise risk and cost while maximising value through effective cost checking and analysis of labour, plant and materials.
Work collaboratively with project, design, construction and supply chain teams to support successful project delivery.
Develop strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and supply chain partners.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of commercial processes and project performance.
Your profile
We are looking for commercially strong professionals who are passionate about construction and want to contribute to the successful delivery of a major project.
You will ideally:
Have proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Manager on large-scale or complex construction projects.
Have strong commercial awareness and experience managing projects from procurement through to final account.
Have experience across procurement, tendering, contract administration, variations and subcontract management.
Have a strong understanding of construction processes and, ideally, experience working closely with construction management/project delivery teams.
Be confident managing commercial risk, cost and opportunities.
Have excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
Be commercially astute with a strong focus on profit, cash, cost control and value.
Hold a degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related discipline.
