We are currently looking to hire a Water Management Specialist to join our Infrastructure team based in Sellafield on a 15 year framework.

The role
The Water Management Specialist will be working within our KDP8 Framework on BEPS2. They will report to the Chief Engineer or Project Manager and be fully accountable for all water management system, including the treatment, maintenance, inspections, testing regime as noted in the role description. Working closely with PPP and SRM Environmental team ensuring compliance with Sellafield and Project procedures, in accordance with the CEOT licence.
Responsibilities and Experience Required
- Experience of water management systems, preferably Siltbuster
- To operate and manage the water management system.
- An appreciation and understanding of the environmental compliance that dictates the consistent water treatment
- Experience of dosing operations
- Perform checking and adjusting dosing levels
- Running the water management system
- Checking compliance (including management of the operatives and deputies)
- Adherence to a prescribed process map, to ensure water treatment process has been obeyed at all times
- Manage stock control of all ancillary additives
- Inspection of the water management system including all discharge pipework to identified outfall
- Adhere to the operation and maintenance regime
- Manage the supply chain for any specialist interface/ repairs for timely resolution
- Manage the ongoing on-site sampling of all processed liquid effluent from the water management system, on-site sampling process and monitor the laboratory testing, and results process, providing regular and routine feedback to the project team and client appointed LEC. Testing regime includes, but not limited to:
- Radiological testing: Alpha, Beta & tritium.
- Non-Radiological testing (TSS, PH and aluminium).
- Environmental awareness
- Maintaining/keeping up to date field testing & laboratory sampling & water discharge records.
- Submitting periodic sampling & discharge reports to SRM & Client teams
Desirable
- Liquid Effluent Controller (LEC) qualification
- Sellafield site experience
- Appreciation of EA/ CEOT licence guidelines and their importance
- Experience of SLSP 2.11.102.
- Compliance regarding accuracy and completeness of discharge records.
- Support the Project with any investigations into events, discharge sampling/ abnormalities and recording of Condition Reports
