This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Sustainability Manager to join our South-West business, delivering the requirements of our sustainability strategy on landmark projects in Somerset and Bristol.

The Senior Sustainability Role
The remit of this role is to translate our company\βs sustainability requirements into action at the project level, as well as ensuring that the interests and requirements of our clients and projects are addressed through strategy development, review, and implementation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Ensuring accurate and robust data collection to demonstrate our achievements and inform our future direction.
- Being a visible sustainability champion across the business, promoting a consistent approach aligned with our sustainability strategy, including themes such as Net Zero Carbon, Resource Efficiency, and Social Value.
- Participating actively in company sustainability working groups, such as our Carbon Task Force.
- Providing support and education to supply chain members to achieve sustainability targets.
- Owning the case study process to communicate best practices across the business.
- Offering sustainability advice during PQQ, tender, and PCSAs, including risks and opportunities, and presenting to clients and professional teams.
- Leading design and specification reviews to meet performance requirements, including environmental assessment standards like BREEAM and WELL.
- Delivering environmental management and sustainability training on projects.
- Monitoring project performance and reporting against standards like Build Sure, utilizing our reporting tools effectively.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
- Member of a relevant professional body (IEMA / CIOB), working towards Chartered Status.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Experience providing technical sustainability support to complex construction or civil engineering projects.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills.
- Proactive in personal learning and development.
- Ability to manage direct reports and multiple projects simultaneously.
Your Profile
Ideally, your profile should include:
- Experience managing and mentoring sustainability project team members.
- Maintenance of an Environmental Management System certified to ISO 14001.
- Embedding sustainability requirements into commercial documentation and ensuring delivery on-site.
- Implementation of community investment initiatives and Section 106 obligations.
- Experience managing environmental assessments such as BREEAM.
- Conducting regular site inspections and internal audits to monitor environmental performance.
