Egg Grader required on an organic free-range enterprise on an Estate in West Berkshire
The poultry enterprise houses 30,000 British Blacktail hens across 15 mobile sheds. Animal welfare is of paramount importance within our system; all birds are kept to Soil Association Organic standards and provided with access to large outdoor ranges with facilities to stimulate natural bird behavior. Eggs are sold to supermarkets via a national distributor, and through our on-site egg shop to the general public.
The role will report directly to the Poultry Manager and duties will include:
Picking eggs off of the egg belts and packing into trays
Stacking egg trays ready for collection
Cleaning eggs to be sold in our on-site egg shop
Washing of egg room facilities
Helping with maintenance during shed turnaround
Hours will be Monday β Friday, 8.00am to 12.00pm, with extra weekend work potentially available for holiday cover. The work is inside, but the role will involve walking short distances between sheds in all weathers. Candidates must be physically healthy and able to lift stacks of egg trays weighing 13kgs.
No experience is necessary as full training will be provided.
If this sounds like the role for you, please apply with a cover letter and up to date CV.
All applications will be treated in strict confidence.
