Sir John Nelthorpe School is an oversubscribed and successful 11–19 mixed comprehensive school with a proud heritage and a reputation for academic excellence. We are looking to appoint a motivated and enthusiastic Teacher of MFL to join our dedicated faculty to cover a period of maternity leave.

The Role

The successful candidate will be an exemplary classroom practitioner capable of delivering high‑quality French lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. There is a possibility of teaching German for a candidate with the appropriate skills and experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons that challenge all pupils and promote a love for language learning.
  • Monitor and evaluate pupil progress in line with school policies to ensure high‑quality outcomes.
  • Contribute to the development of schemes of work within the MFL department.
  • Promote the school’s ethos and maintain high standards of behaviour and discipline.

The Successful Candidate will have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or be on track to achieve this by June 2026.
  • A degree in a relevant subject.
