Sir John Nelthorpe School is a successful 11‑19 mixed comprehensive school with a proud history and a commitment to delivering a high‑quality, academic curriculum. We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and talented linguist to join our MFL faculty on a part‑time basis.

The Role

  • We are looking for a specialist to deliver German across Key Stage 3 and 4. Whilst this role is ideally for a German specialist, French specialists are also strongly encouraged to apply.
  • There are opportunities for Key Stage 5 teaching for candidates who wish to teach at A‑Level.

The post is suitable for experienced teachers, ECTs, or those qualifying this year (Summer 2026).

Key Responsibilities:

  • To plan and deliver high‑standard MFL lessons that engage students and foster a deep interest in languages.
  • To contribute to the faculty’s tracking and monitoring of student progress.
  • To support the development of the MFL curriculum, ensuring students are well‑prepared for examinations and beyond.
  • To participate in the wider life of the school, including our "Fortis et Fidelis" ethos.

The Successful Candidate will have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or be on track to achieve this by September 2026.
  • A degree in German, French, or a related subject.
  • The ability to inspire and motivate pupils across all ability ranges.
  • A commitment to continuous professional development and collaborative working.
