The purpose of this versatile role is to manage the library as a vibrant student support area. The role includes daily operation of the library, immediate supervision of library staff, and ensuring the space remains engaging, safe, and purposeful for learning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Run the daily operation of the library and supervise staff.
  • Ensure the library facilities are available, advertised and accessible to students and staff.
  • Work with curriculum departments to promote resource use and student engagement.
  • Promote positive student behaviour and challenge where needed.
  • Drive continuous improvement of library provision, engaging with key stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate records and organise library resources.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Energy, enthusiasm and presence to enable effective running of a vibrant learning environment.
  • A confident and outgoing personality.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working with students and young people in an education setting.
  • Educated to A-Level or equivalent.
  • Knowledge and experience of using MS Office packages.
  • Ability to organise and maintain records effectively.
  • Flexible to changing needs.
  • Self-starter with initiative.

Applicants must have an enhanced DBS disclosure and satisfactory references. The role requires commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare and safety of children and young people.
