Salary: Band 5 (SP 15 - SP 19) £32,199 - £36,564 (FTE Salary) / £27,616 - £31,360 (Actual Salary) - Based on 37 hours per week, Term Time only.

Contract type: Permanent, Term Time only, Full time (37 hours) or Part Time considered.

Reporting to: Mental Health and Wellbeing Lead.

About the Role

Reporting to the Mental Health and Wellbeing Lead you will work as part of our Achievement & Support department to promote the emotional wellbeing of students. The hours available are full time but part-time can be considered. Working pattern (for full time, 37 hours per week) is: Monday to Thursday 8.30am - 4.30pm, Friday 8.30am - 4pm.

Responsibilities

Qualifications

Applicants do not necessarily need to have experience of working in education but should be passionate about the sector. You will join a team of experienced counselling professionals who provide a dedicated counselling service to students. The counselling team work closely with all our pastoral support departments and the safeguarding team. The successful candidate must have a recognised qualification in counselling and experience of working with children and young people. They must have a warm and compassionate approach with the ability to quickly build rapport with students. This role follows a college academic calendar and requires onsite attendance from the start of the academic year on GCSE Results Day (third Thursday in August), ending in mid‑July.
