We are seeking to appoint an ambitious and high performing Primary Teacher to join Lift Clacton as a Transition Teacher. This is a rare and exciting opportunity to shape a role that sits at the heart of our inclusive vision, ensuring every child is supported to make a successful transition from primary to secondary education.

At Lift Clacton, we recognise that for some pupils, the move to secondary school can be both exciting and challenging. Many arrive with a wide range of academic, social and emotional needs, and this role has been created to provide targeted support at a crucial stage in their educational journey.

Working closely with the Principal, SENDCo and wider pastoral team, you will play a key role in helping pupils build confidence, develop resilience and establish the foundations for long term success. Working primarily with Year 7 pupils, you will deliver engaging teaching and targeted interventions that strengthen literacy, numeracy and learning behaviours, while supporting pupils to develop independence, self-belief and a strong sense of belonging within the school community.

You will help identify and remove barriers to learning, ensuring that every pupil is able to access the curriculum and achieve their full potential. For the right candidate, this is an opportunity to make a lasting difference to the lives of young people within a community where high quality support, strong relationships and inclusion can have a transformative impact.

Bringing the strengths of primary practice into a secondary setting, you will work collaboratively with colleagues, families and feeder primary schools to create a seamless transition experience, ensuring every pupil receives the support they need to thrive academically, socially and emotionally.

We maintain high expectations, foster a positive school culture, and offer clear teaching and learning practices coupled with a supportive senior leadership team.

To arrange a school visit or to find out more about the role, please contact Saran Vijay, our School Operations Manager on svijay@liftclacton.org.

Closing date: 29th June 2026 at 12pm.

We adopt a fair and consistent recruitment process which is in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education guidance. This includes online checks for shortlisted candidates.
