About the Role
As a Swim Teacher, you will be the driving force behind our swimming programme. You will deliver high‑quality, progressive swimming lessons to a diverse range of users, including school groups, children, and adults. This is more than just a teaching job; it’s an opportunity to build vital life skills, boost community health, and contribute to Lift Schools’ mission of providing excellent opportunities for every child, every day.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver fun, structured, and inclusive swimming lessons in line with the recognised Swim England (or equivalent) Learn to Swim framework.
- Assess and record the progress of swimmers, providing constructive feedback and celebrating their achievements.
- Ensure the safety and well‑being of all participants in and around the pool area at all times.
- Set up and dismantle pool equipment safely before and after lessons.
- Maintain excellent communication with parents, schools, and leisure centre staff regarding swimmer progress and safety.
- Uphold strict safeguarding, health & safety, and emergency procedures at all times.
What We’re Looking For
- Qualifications: A valid Swim England Level 2 Teaching Swimming qualification (or STA equivalent).
- Safety: A current National Rescue Award for Swimming Teachers and Coaches (NRASTC) or National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) is highly desirable (training can be provided for the right candidate).
- An enthusiastic, patient, and approachable personality with a knack for engaging children and adults alike.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to adapt your teaching style to suit different learning needs.
- A reliable team player who is deeply committed to safeguarding and child welfare.
