Your new school Lift Broadlands is a small secondary school in Keynsham, fostering a nurturing environment for students aged 11‑16 and led by Principal Laura Stone. The school is fully inclusive and holds an OFSTED ‘Good’ rating. It is conveniently located near Bath and North East Somerset with excellent transport links to Bristol and surrounding areas.

Your new role:

  • Safely collect and transport students to and from school.
  • Exercise a strict duty of care: ensure seatbelts are worn at all times, supervise students when they board and disembark, and enforce the one‑person‑per‑seat rule to prevent overloading.
  • Carry out daily vehicle checks before any journey, including checking the first aid kit, fire extinguisher, and ensuring gangways are clear.
  • Perform routine weekly maintenance: wash and clean the vehicle, check fluid levels, and maintain general cleanliness and roadworthiness.
  • Refuel the vehicle as required.
  • Remove occupants safely following health & safety procedures if the vehicle breaks down.
  • Promote safeguarding and welfare of children and young persons.
  • Maintain professional attendance, punctuality, and appearance.
  • Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with residents, staff, pupils, contractors, and other visitors.

What you’ll need to succeed:

  • You will have a driving licence and experience driving a larger vehicle in a customer‑facing role, ideally with community groups, schools or sports clubs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • First Aid qualification is desirable, or a willingness to complete training.
