Your new school
Lift Winton is a popular secondary school with fantastic facilities and a great reputation within the local community. We continue to be ambitious and want to become the best school in Hampshire. The school has recently appointed a new Principal, Myles Preston, who brings over ten years of experience in both teaching and leadership roles. Myles is passionate about working with and leading a fantastic community of likeminded staff who understand the potential that an excellent education has in unlocking doors for young people and who are dedicated to joining a school on a rapid journey of improvement.
If you are ambitious, energetic and have a ‘get stuck in’ attitude, this could be the role for you. We are building a vision and a set of values to drive our school forward, and want to hear from people who are excited about the prospect of working with us to ensure our school is a high performing school in terms of outcomes, but also a school which places community and care at the forefront of all that we do. It’s an exciting time to join and be part of our journey; the school maintained a ‘Good’ grade in the latest visit by Ofsted in 2023. We pride ourselves on a culture of high support and high expectations, and we have excellent relationships with families and the community who work closely with us to ensure every child receives an excellent education.
Your new role
This role will teach both Geography and History, and is critical in delivering a broad and balanced curriculum, facilitating a positive learning environment where all students feel supported and encouraged to reach their full potential. You will design engaging lessons, assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to raise standards of student attainment. Additionally, you will collaborate with other teaching staff, pastoral staff and parents to support the personal development of students, addressing their individual needs and promoting inclusivity.
What you’ll need to succeed
We are looking for a qualified teacher who has a proven track record of driving and improving results. You will be able to plan and deliver engaging lessons to students with the appropriate amount of constructive challenge and adapt your teaching style and the curriculum to meet the needs of all students within the subject. You will also be highly ambitious for our students, our team, and for raising standards across your department.
We offer you:
- Comprehensive training: Access to some of the best developmental training to boost your career.
- Generous benefits: From your pension plan to healthcare and financial support, we've got you covered.
- Lifestyle perks: Enjoy discounted gym memberships, travel deals, and even electric vehicle incentives.
