  • Assisting claims handlers with various aspects of case preparation including obtaining, collation and sorting of medical records
  • Organising all aspects of case meetings and conferences (and liaising with various third parties for this purpose);
  • Liaising with clients, witnesses and various professionals (including Counsel, Experts and Case Managers/Therapists),
  • Assisting with obtaining straight forward liability and quantum investigations (including collation of police records, medical, therapy, employment and case management documentation, schedules and related documents
  • Assisting other team members and applying a proactive approach on a case-by-case basis to achieve the very best outcome for the client, and ensuring compliance with Court timetables
  • Maintaining accurate administrative records of ongoing files in accordance with stipulated criteria
  • Handling invoices from various sources, principally rehabilitation providers and dealing with payment, maintaining schedules and supporting case handlers in relation to available funds for ongoing rehabilitation
  • Handling payments in and out in relation to costs and compensation, checking disbursements, checking fixed cost sum calculations
  • Assisting with file opening and file closure procedures
  • Telephone calls with clients and other third-party professionals

Requirements

The ideal candidate will exhibit a high degree of organisation and flexibility; together with an ability to follow detailed instructions without close supervision. In addition, they will be able to manage a shared email in box and tasks diary and to prioritise work. They will be able to cope well under pressure and work to strict deadlines. They will need to work well in a team.

Good communication, organisational and IT skills are essential. Attention to detail and a good work ethic are also necessary, as well as a willingness to cover a variety of tasks. Work outside of core hours may be required on occasion.

You will need to enjoy interacting with other people and have excellent client care skills.
