The Role
- Managing and negotiating site acquisition and development through conditional agreements, options, promotion agreements, sub-sales and forward funding arrangements;
- Advising on legal structures and heads of terms at negotiation stage;
- Dealing with complex title structures, easements, covenants, ransoms and environmental matters;
- Drafting and negotiating multiple and varied forms of overage/clawback arrangements;
- Drafting and negotiating planning agreements and other statutory agreements together with other work required to facilitate infrastructure for development projects;
- Working with other stakeholders and client advisory teams including architects, planning consultants, Counsel and other professional services;
- Working with senior colleagues on strategic matters including assisting with client relationship management;
- Delegation and supervision of work to more junior fee earners as well as training and development of the same;
- Business Development including building and growing the team.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have significant experience on a wide range of real estate, developments and property transactions (with a minimum of 8 years PQE+), strong client facing experience and excellent communication skills. Experience of development matters is essential as is an interest in supervision and development of more junior fee earners. A strong proactive approach to business development would be ideal.
