Join our friendly, passionate jam team. Single Variety Co is a family run premium jam maker based in Warmley, Bristol. Every product in our core range is an award winner at the Great Taste Awards or Taste of the West Awards, and we are winners of the Bristol Life Best Retail Award. We are looking for a Foodservice & Wholesale Sales Executive to join our team. This is the first time we have hired for a sales role, and as such you have a huge opportunity to make a difference within our small business. You'll be reporting directly into Ross, one of the business owners, and work closely alongside the rest of our small jam team (there are currently 13 of us). We are open to this role being either full or part time (minimum 24 hours/week).
The Role
- To generate sales growth with a primary focus on foodservice (tubs) and secondary focus on wholesale (jars).
- Create and manage your own sales pipeline by identifying potential customers, building a prospect list and proactively engaging prospects via phone, email, and face to face.
- Maintaining and strengthening relationships with new and existing stockists by always offering great customer service and regular check ins.
- Ownership of the wholesale contact list and ensuring regular updates are sent regarding our seasonal flavours (by email, telephone and visits to local stockists).
- Attending trade shows (and identifying new trade show opportunities).
Who We Are Looking For
- An enthusiastic people-person – you love meeting new people and are confident approaching and starting conversations, whilst staying professional.
- Sales experience preferred – it’s likely you’ll have a couple of years sales experience, ideally within food or drink.
- Ability to plan and manage your time effectively and able to make decisions on which potential customers to prioritise – a lot of the time you will be working on your own.
- You’ll have energy, resilience, and motivation.
- A desire to learn, and to progress in sales.
- You’ll be honest, decent and have high quality standards – these are our brand values.
- Preferably easy-going with a sense of humour!
Location
This role will involve a mix of office-based work and visits to potential/current customers - mainly local to Bristol & Bath but some further afield travel will be required too. We are a small friendly team and want you to be a part of it, and we expect you’ll be in the Jam Factory office a couple of days per week on average, and the rest of the time out visiting leads/current customers. We’re based in Warmley, BS30, right on the Bristol to Bath cycle path.
What’s on offer
- £30-£35k salary dependent on experience (full time hours).
- We are open to this role being full or part time - please outline your ideal hours in your application.
- Opportunity to grow and progress as the business does.
- Quarterly team building drinks/meals/activities.
- We are looking to fill this role as soon as possible, but we will wait for the right person (so please don’t be put off if you are currently in a job with a notice period).
