About the Recovery & Opportunities Coordinator role:
Recovery looks different for everyone, and meaningful opportunities can be a powerful part of helping people move forward. As a Recovery and Opportunities Coordinator, you’ll take the lead in creating a programme that gives clients across Ashley Road, Milton House and Highbury New Park the chance to build confidence, strengthen their wellbeing, discover new interests, develop new skills and take positive steps towards greater independence.
This is a hands-on and creative role where you’ll turn ideas into activities that people genuinely want to take part in. You’ll design and deliver engaging group work covering areas such as mental and physical health, relationships, substance use, life skills and learning, while creating opportunities that support clients to prepare for moving on to more independent accommodation. You’ll use a strengths-based and trauma-informed approach, adapting what you offer to respond to people’s interests, goals and experiences.
You’ll also look beyond our services to create more opportunities for clients. Building strong relationships with community organisations, statutory services, specialist agencies and lived experience networks, you’ll help connect people with the resources, activities and support available around them. Alongside this, you’ll champion co-production, support colleagues, volunteers and peers to get involved in delivering the programme, and help make recovery and social inclusion a visible part of everyday service delivery.
At Single Homeless Project (SHP), you’ll be encouraged to keep developing your own practice too. Through training, supervision and reflective practice, you’ll have opportunities to deepen your knowledge of recovery, trauma-informed approaches and group work, while playing an active part in shaping how we support people experiencing multiple disadvantage.
About you as our Recovery & Opportunities Coordinator:
- You have experience developing, coordinating and facilitating groups and activities, with a good understanding of group dynamics and how to support others to deliver them confidently and effectively.
- You’re creative, enthusiastic and proactive, with the confidence to turn ideas into meaningful opportunities and encourage clients, colleagues, volunteers and peers to get involved.
- You’re confident building positive working relationships and partnerships with a range of internal and external services, helping to open up new opportunities for the people we support.
- You understand how to engage, motivate and inspire people experiencing multiple disadvantage, including the barriers that can make participation more difficult, and can create a positive and welcoming atmosphere.
- You’re committed to inclusive practice, creating environments where people from different backgrounds feel respected and able to participate, while maintaining clear and appropriate professional boundaries.
Our attractive benefits package includes:
- A salary increase after successfully completing six month’s probationary period
- A 37.5 hour working week including flexible working hours (core hours are 10am – 4pm) in non-accommodation services
- 25 days annual leave, increasing annually to the maximum 30 days (plus paid Bank Holidays)
- A contributory pension scheme: Single Homeless Project will contribute the equivalent of 5% of your annual salary
- Staff Health Cash Plan and discounts scheme
- Comprehensive and integrated training programme designed specifically to develop the skills and knowledge involved in our work
