Job Summary
In this exciting role, reporting directly to the UK Procurement Manager, the Commodity Manager is responsible for the full management of the spend portfolio for a designated commodity. Working in a cross functional environment, the role is responsible for owning and driving the strategic Procurement process, whilst developing and maintaining strong internal and external relationships. The goal is to ensure the smooth and cost-efficient material flow to support our operations in a manner that demonstrates, “Everything is Important.”
Key Responsibilities
- Lead commercial risk, sourcing activities and negotiate contracts for assigned global production intent commodities to optimise cost, ensure supply continuity and secure commercial advantage.
- Undertake contractual and price negotiations with all current and new suppliers, ensuring commercial solutions are in place to mitigate solutions, whilst maximising value for all current and future vehicle development.
- Drive cost reduction activities, ensuring minimal disruption to component supply.
- Develop and implement robust global commodity and supplier strategies to meet business needs across all stakeholder and manufacturing areas.
- Participate and lead cross functional initiatives to reduce cost and improve delivery or quality performance with suppliers.
- Process order requests and place orders with suppliers to obtain materials required to support product launches and vehicle build demand.
- Collaborate in a cross-functional team environment as a strong team player and demonstrate ability to work with other functional groups to achieve company-wide goals.
- Participate in all activities designed to integrate procurement within the project management process, participating as a core team member in programme and project reviews.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Proven experience as a buyer or similar Procurement role.
- Strong background in low volume, high mix manufacturing or operational environments.
- Experience of developing and communicating Procurement Commodity Strategies.
- Proficient in working with MRP systems.
- Prior experience in rapid growth environment.
- Prepared to occasionally travel for business purposes.
