Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Chassis Project Engineer to lead the development and integration of chassis systems for our reimagined vehicles. This role is critical to delivering the dynamic feel, performance, and refinement expected from every Singer restoration. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical knowledge, strong project management skills, and a passion for performance engineering.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the design, development, and integration of chassis systems including suspension, steering, braking, wheels, and tyres.
- Lead chassis-related project deliverables from concept through to production, ensuring alignment with vehicle performance targets, design intent, and manufacturing constraints.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Vehicle Dynamics, Powertrain, Body, and Manufacturing teams to deliver holistic vehicle performance.
- Liaise with suppliers and partners to develop, source, and validate chassis components, with a focus on quality and performance.
- Define and execute DVP (Design Verification Plan) activities, including rig testing, track validation, and road testing.
- Drive continuous improvement, pushing boundaries on ride, handling, NVH, and driver engagement.
- Support build phases, prototype testing, issue resolution, and engineering sign-off for all chassis systems.
- Contribute to product innovation and development of future chassis technologies aligned with Singer’s vision.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering (or related field).
- 7+ years of experience in automotive chassis engineering, ideally with a focus on high-performance or motorsport applications.
- Proven expertise in at least two of the following domains: suspension systems, steering architecture, braking systems, wheel and tyre integration.
- Strong understanding of vehicle dynamics principles and their impact on chassis design.
- Exceptional communication, organisation, and project leadership skills.
- Passion for performance vehicles, classic cars, and engineering excellence.
Desirable:
- Experience with low-volume or coach built vehicle programs.
- Background in motorsport or ride & handling development.
- Familiarity with vehicle regulatory compliance related to chassis systems.
