Job Purpose: The Assistant Manager, Membership, is responsible for driving membership sales and increasing sign-ups through outreach to associations and corporate entities. The role also involves assisting with the migration and implementation of the club's CRM system to ensure all system requirements are met. Additionally, the Assistant Manager will lead club tours, conduct sales talks, and be fully versed in membership processes such as transfers, resignations, absentee management, and handling defaulters. The position also entails providing support to the Membership Services Manager in day-to-day operations, preparing month-end journals and reports, assisting with the organization and management of club events and activities, providing professional responses to member or prospect inquiries and complaints, and reviewing and updating the department’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Key Responsibilities:
- Membership Sales & Marketing: Drive membership sales by identifying and targeting potential clients through associations, corporate partners, and other networks. Develop and execute strategies to increase sign-ups, including participation in marketing campaigns, promotional events, and outreach programs. Conduct sales presentations and talks to potential members, showcasing the benefits of the club and guiding them through the membership process.
- CRM System Migration & Implementation: Assist in the migration to a new CRM system, ensuring that all membership data is accurately transferred and system requirements are fully met. Work closely with the IT and Membership Services teams to ensure smooth transition and functionality of the new system. Regularly update and maintain the CRM system with member information and sales-related data.
- Club Tours & Client Engagement: Lead guided club tours for prospective members, providing an overview of the club's facilities and services. Engage with potential clients, addressing inquiries and offering personalized membership recommendations based on their interests and needs.
- Membership Process Management: Be fully familiar with all club membership processes, including transfers, resignations, absent management, and handling defaulters. Provide support and guidance to the membership team to ensure smooth processing of member transactions and requests.
- Event & Activity Organization: Assist with organizing and managing club events and activities focused on membership engagement. Collaborate with the events team to ensure all membership-related events are executed seamlessly and meet members' expectations. Engage members and potential members through various activities that promote community involvement and club loyalty.
- Professional Member & Prospect Interaction: Provide professional responses to member or prospect inquiries and complaints, ensuring high standards of customer service. Escalate issues to the Membership Services Manager when necessary and follow up on resolutions. Maintain a positive and professional demeanor in all interactions with members, prospects, and external partners.
- Ensure Compliance with Club Constitution & By-laws: Ensure that all membership activities, processes, and decisions are in full compliance with the club’s constitution and by-laws. Regularly review and stay updated on the club’s constitution and by-laws to ensure operations align with the club’s governance and legal framework. Provide guidance and ensure staff adherence to club policies in accordance with constitutional and by-law requirements.
- Collaboration with Internal and External Stakeholders: Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless execution of membership initiatives and events. Build and maintain relationships with associations and corporate partners to drive memberships.
- Others: Follow the workplace safety and health system, safe work procedures or safety rules implemented at the workplace. Not engage in any unsafe or negligent act that may endanger yourself or others working around you. Use personal protective equipment provided to you to ensure your safety while working. You must not tamper with or misuse the equipment. Any other duties/projects as assigned by Supervisor and/or Management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Hospitality, or related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in membership sales, customer relationship management, or a similar role.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage potential clients effectively.
- Proficiency in CRM systems; experience with system migration or implementation is a plus.
- Knowledge of club membership processes (e.g., transfers, resignations, absent management, and defaulters).
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities, with the ability to support and collaborate with management.
- Experience in event planning or coordination.
