Possesses expertise in social work domains and supports the supervising the delivery of interventions and programmes at the organisational level. Uplifts professional practice in the organisation through delivering education and training for practitioners across service centres and/or initiating professional development projects for staff. Strengthens partnership with key influencers within the community and across the organisation to guide the development of social service for various clientele groups. In charge of overseeing casework and group work intervention as well as providing strategic leadership to develop community development programmes. Highly experienced professional with excellent management and leadership skills, inspiring staff in their field of work. Able to work across a variety of practice settings, leading collaborations with other agencies and ministries in the course of work.

Key Job Objective

  • Oversee the development of professional practice in the organisation to ensure good quality of service and care across service centres.
  • Co-work with service group leads in uplifting practice standards and supervision quality across service settings in the organisation.
  • Guide and support service teams in developing practice frameworks and standards to ensure and/or improve service quality in programme development and implementation across all self-funded services.
  • Co-work with service group leads in ensuring service excellence.
  • Review and refine capability development plans across professional tracks and service settings.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Uplift professional practice in social work
    • Provide professional supervision for lead practitioners in the organisation.
    • Oversee supervision practice and quality, as well as supervision of supervision in the organisation.
    • Drive professional development of practitioners in the organisation including developing supervision guidelines and driving self-care mechanisms.
    • Lead improvements in models of practice, care and service delivery based on research and emerging trends.
    • Oversee/lead/develop practice audits in the organisation with adherence to sub-sectors’ audit frameworks where applicable.
    • Review to ensure relevance and quality in service delivery, standards of care, organisational health policies, procedures and programmes to promote safety and health for the organisation.
    • Adapt crisis management approaches that enable the organisation to minimise risks during crisis situations.
    • Develop and/or refine standard operating procedures to manage crisis situations where necessary.
    • Lead organisation research on current programs and specified issues.
    • Provide relevant inputs to inform policy changes and development at the organisation level.
  2. Casework
    • Provide multi-disciplinary perspective to guide the development and implementation of holistic interventions at the organisational level.
    • Strategize approaches to track outcomes of casework interventions for effectiveness.
    • Identify emerging trends locally and internationally that require domain attention in case work.
  3. Deliver programmes
    • Guide service teams in the development of domain-specific programmes and best practices.
    • Oversee development and delivery of programmes across service settings in the organisation.
    • Evaluate programmes at organisational level.
  4. Perform stakeholder engagement and partnerships
    • Lead social work practice across disciplines within the organisation.
  5. Group work
    • Provide consultation on design and implementation of group work interventions within the organisation.
    • Review progress and effectiveness of group work interventions at organisational level.
  6. Community development work
    • Analyse outcomes of environmental scans and community need assessments for new community development initiatives within the organisation.
    • Review progress and effectiveness of community development initiatives where applicable.
    • Drive and/or guide service teams in the implementation of community development initiatives through collaborations and advocacy with policy makers.

Competencies Required

  • Masters in Social Work preferred.
  • At least 15 years of relevant experience working with children, young persons and families and at least 12 years of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Advanced skills in clinical supervision and supervision of supervision.
  • Registration with local accreditation body or professional association (e.g. SASW, SAC) obtained.
  • Experience in working with vulnerable children and families, youth at-risk and/or leadership experience in social service settings is an added advantage.
