Responsibilities

  • Weekly teaching, full school day – 8.45am‑3.30pm/4.30pm, term time
  • Permanent placement in a Sing Education primary school or schools
  • Teaching from 1 to 5 days per week
  • Singing‑led curricular whole‑class music lessons – Nursery to Year 6 following Sing Education teaching resources
  • Singing assemblies
  • Choirs, lunchtime and after‑school clubs

Requirements

Qualifications

  • University graduate with a degree in music or a related field

Skills and Knowledge

  • Strong vocal skills with the confidence to lead lessons and assemblies
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English
  • Capability to conduct whole‑class music lessons
  • Basic keyboard proficiency for classroom use
  • Understanding of the National Curriculum for music
  • Proficient with ICT and able to use online systems such as G Suite

Experience

  • Experience in classroom teaching or one‑on‑one instruction
  • Previous work with children or young people in a teaching or leadership role

Benefits

Compensation

  • Full‑time salary PA: £24,867 – £32,542 (for 5 days per week), based on a 5‑point progressive pay scale
  • Staff progress up the pay scale with each 12 months of service following a successful managerial supervision meeting; initial pay is dependent on classroom music experience and weekly hours + pension
  • 7 – 40 hours per week, 38 weeks per year + paid training
  • No PGCE or QTS required
