Sing Education are looking for a reliable, confident and inspirational musician with a degree in music or a related field (i.e. musical theatre/music education) to join our team of specialist music teachers in West London on a permanent basis for 2-5 days per week.

Full-time Salary PA: £24,867 – £32,542 (for 5 days per week), based on a 5 point progressive pay scale, staff progress up the pay scale with each 12 months of service following a successful managerial supervision meeting. Initial pay is dependent on classroom music experience and weekly hours, + pension. 7 – 35 hours per week – 38 weeks per year + paid training.

What we do:

  • Source and train music teachers, develop teaching resources and provide management and consultancy services to schools in London, Yorkshire, Kent and Slough.
  • Enable children to encounter the transformative power of music in their lives, by experiencing the joy of singing and making music collectively at school.

Teaching typically includes:

  • Weekly teaching, full school day – 8.45am-3.30/4.30pm, term time
  • Permanent placement in a Sing Education primary school/s
  • Singing-led curricular whole-class music lessons – Nursery to Year 6 following Sing Education teaching resources
  • Choirs, lunchtime and after school clubs

Person Specification:

  • University graduate with a good degree in music or a related field
  • QTS desirable but not required
  • Strong singing voice and confidence to lead lessons and assemblies with the singing voice
  • Excellent spoken and written English
  • Ability to lead whole-class music lessons
  • Basic keyboard skills to use in a classroom setting
  • Knowledge of the requirements of the National Curriculum for music
  • A degree of ICT literacy and ability to use online systems such as G Suite and other communication platforms
  • Classroom or one-to-one teaching experience
  • Experience of working with children or young people in a teaching or leadership capacity
