Requirements

  • Availability: Musicians must be able to cover short‑term and long‑term assignments Monday‑Friday during term time from 8.30 am to 4.30 pm. Flexibility to accept assignments on short notice (informed by 7.30 am or the afternoon before, whenever possible) and to pre‑book cover dates is essential.
  • Certification: All applicants must possess or be willing to undergo an Enhanced DBS Disclosure facilitated by Sing Education to ensure child safety and trust.
  • The Teaching: Deliver our signature singing‑led, whole‑class curriculum music lessons from Nursery to Year 6 using cover lesson plans provided by Sing Education. Also conduct singing assemblies and lead choirs and clubs with provided plans.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Conclude each cover day with a brief handover to the Sing Education admin team. Professional and clear communication is vital, as you represent Sing Education within partner schools. Begin with our comprehensive team training and induction sessions, including online and in‑person training, to fully integrate into the Sing Education ethos.

Benefits

  • Standard Day: £140 per cover day (8.30 am – 3.30 pm).
  • Club Day: £160 per day for any assignment that includes a before or after‑school club (starting at 7.30 am OR finishing at 4.30 pm).
  • Winter Bonus Scheme: A £25 bonus is added to your daily rate for same‑day shifts accepted during November to February.
