This role: We are looking for a Senior Major Projects, Project Manager to come and join our growing team. This will be someone who challenges what we do daily and thrives working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines helping us build for the future.

An idea of what you'll be doing:

  • Manage a portfolio major projects, delivering completed projects on time, to our quality standards and within budgets to maximise profit
  • Responsibility for and reporting on P&L accounts for a portfolio of projects
  • Point of escalation for customers, contract partners and internal staff for queries about delivery, finance, contract and communication etc
  • Providing a supporting role in onboarding new projects and customers
  • Being the link between operations and commercial supporting keeping our cost catalogue up to date.
  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders and clients
  • Define and embed project control and governance
  • Design and maintain accurate and current programs of work for the projects they deliver
  • Provide Project planning, Milestone management, Scope management, Resource forecasting; Financial Management; Change Management across the project portfolio.
  • Provide routine updates and reports at an operational and commercial level
  • Oversee project costs and ensure finances are well managed
  • Support the Commercial team with project feedback, recommendations and lessons learned
  • Deliver projects sustainably in consideration of competence, capability and safety
  • Take decisions as and when required
  • Attend site when necessary to troubleshoot or monitor quality
  • Conduct audits
  • Always maximise profitability for the business, considering innovative or better practices to deliver project efficiency wherever it is possible to do so
  • Ensure cross-programme dependencies are managed and the dependency log is accurately maintained
  • Ensure efficient change control methods and processes are utilised
  • Act as a mentor to the broader Major Projects PM team supporting continuous development.

Requirements: You'll have a proven track record of:

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to adapt communication styles
  • Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to use own initiative as well as work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Excellent listening skills with ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Extensive Project Management experience, particularly within the electrical utility and construction industry
  • Project Management qualification (e.g. Prince 2, APM, PMI)
  • Proven track record of effectively managing both projects and employees
  • Competence in MS Project or equivalent Project Management software
  • Ability to work with multiple teams at any one time
  • Understanding of the Project life cycle, from ownership to completion
  • Project profit and loss forecasting and delivery
  • Project reporting, particularly progress against target and budget
  • Agility in challenging situations, with the ability to find appropriate cost-effective solutions
  • Customer Management
  • Ability to drive and deliver complex, multi-million-pound projects
  • Excellent organisation and coordination skills

You’ll be a successful Major Projects, Project Manager at Sinewave if you’re:

  • Experience working for an ICP or DNO at EHV voltage levels (33-132kV)
  • Project Management qualification or equivalent experience (e.g. Prince 2, APM, PMI)
  • Full UK driving license (Maximum of 3 Penalty Points)
  • Emergency first aid at work qualification
  • Experience working alongside Design teams
  • Experience working in the electrical industry
  • Experience working tendering
  • SMSTS qualified (desirable)
