This role: We are looking for an EHV Estimator to come and join our growing Commercial team. This will be someone who challenges what we do daily and thrives working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines helping us build for the future.
An idea of what you’ll be doing:
- Preparation of tenders from 33kV to 132kV
- Providing quotations and tenders for new connection works and turnkey projects utilising Sinewave’s in-house teams and supply chain.
- Key account management for new and existing customers including, top level review with the clients
- Talking to manufacturers & suppliers to develop partnerships for turnkey solutions.
- Following up quotations and bringing feedback to the tendering and sales team for unsuccessful quotations.
- Attend site surveys & route walks, or tender interviews as necessary.
- Establishing key aspects associated with client requirements, providing quotations, liaising with internal departments and submitting final overview of project ability to the client.
- Evaluate supplier and subcontract returns to ensure compliance with the tender specification/documentation.
- Accurately undertake any necessary take-offs of drawings and schedules and perform data entry into the estimating software selected by the business.
- Follow all company procedures for enquiry and tender handling.
- Draft commentary regarding exclusions and clarifications associated with the return offer.
- Working with SimPro and other business systems to follow company processes and maintain data integrity.
- Assist in creation / management or processes for the Estimating & Major Projects team.

You’ll have a proven track record of:
- Proficient in the use of Productivity and Collaboration Software such as Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint etc. across multiple platforms such as smart phones, tablets, laptops etc.
- Excellent communication, including ability to adapt communication styles and outstanding listening skills with ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Can use basic information and industry knowledge/experience to pull together tenders
- Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to use own initiative as well as work collaboratively as part of a team
- Attention to detail i.e. the ability to produce high quality proposals and reports with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
- Desire to mentor, train and manage new team members as the business grows
You’ll be a successful EHV Estimator at Sinewave if you’re …
- Full UK driving license (Maximum of 3 points)
- Qualification in engineering or equivalent experience
- A level equivalent in literacy, numeracy and technology
- Must have strong market knowledge and experience within the electrical distribution sector both from 33kV up to 132kV.
- Experience working on large renewable projects and off site routes
- Proven experience in the successful tendering of large scale projects
- Experience of establishing strategic and operational partnerships.
- Wide experience of handling complex business / commercial and in confidence sensitive information both internally and externally.
- Experience in delivering successful tenders
- Comply with all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes, including the anti-bribery policy, while adhering to the Environmental and Quality Management System in alignment with ISO standards and the requirements of the NERS accreditation.
