Sinclair is currently recruiting for a Desktop Support Engineer at our UK office in London. The Desktop Support Engineer will provide day-to-day IT support to Sinclair employees at the site and keep local IT hardware properly deployed, tracked, and maintained, with guidance from senior IT team members.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Diploma or degree in IT or related field
- 1β2 years of IT support experience; internship or helpdesk experience an advantage
- Working knowledge of Windows 10/11 and Microsoft 365; basic PC hardware and network troubleshooting
- Organised and detail-oriented, comfortable maintaining records in spreadsheets or an asset system
- Patient and service-minded, with clear communication for non-technical users
- Able to lift and move standard IT equipment

What You'll Be Doing:
- End User Support: First point of contact for IT issues β desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and peripherals. Log and update tickets clearly; escalate when an issue is beyond scope. Support Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365, and standard business applications; handle password resets and access requests. Set up and check meeting room AV and video conferencing equipment.
- Hardware & Asset Management: Maintain the site IT asset register β serial numbers, user assignment, and location kept accurate. Manage hardware lifecycle: receive and tag new equipment, image and deploy devices, recover and securely wipe returns, prepare end-of-life kit for disposal. Monitor spare stock and consumables; raise replenishment requests before stock runs low. Log hardware faults, arrange warranty and repair cases with vendors, and track to closure. Prepare and issue equipment for new joiners; recover and re-stock from leavers.
Your skills and experience:
Desirable: Exposure to a ticketing or asset management system; Active Directory basics; CompTIA A+ or ITIL Foundation.
