We are currently looking for an experienced Site Manager for a major civil engineering project.
Site Manager Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day site operations, ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with project specifications.
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, site operatives, plant, and materials.
- Quantify materials from drawings and raise material requisitions.
- Interpret technical drawings and specifications to guide on-site delivery.
- Proactively raise and track RFIs/ EWN and raise internal CE paperwork.
- Ensure all groundworks activities (excavation, drainage, concrete works, foundations, roads, etc.) are delivered to specification, with all QA records kept up to date.
- Maintain accurate daily site records and progress updates.
- Promote health and safety compliance, delivering toolbox talks, inductions, and briefings on method statements and risk assessments.
- Liaise with clients, contracts managers, engineers, and senior management to provide updates and resolve issues.
- Oversee site logistics including deliveries, materials handling, and waste management.
- Ensure plant and machinery are used safely and maintained properly.
- Prepare and write method statements, risk assessments, and QA documentation as required by the Principal Contractor.
Desirable Experience & Qualifications:
- Background in commercial or infrastructure groundworks.
- Civil engineering qualification or equivalent.
- NVQ Level 6 in Construction Site Management (or equivalent).
- Must hold SMSTS.
