The role:
As a Mechanical Fitter / Mechanical Assembler, you’ll be a key part of a skilled machine build team assembling complex special-purpose machinery. This isn’t repetitive sub-assembly work - it’s full, end-to-end machine building.
Day-to-day duties include:
- Full mechanical assembly of bespoke machines from the ground up
- Precision fitting, fine adjustments, correct clearances, and lubrication
- Working with shafts, bearings, gears, linkages, pneumatics, and other precision components
- Using power tools, hand tools, and precision measuring tools (height gauges, micrometers, callipers)
- Reading and interpreting detailed mechanical drawings and specifications
- Final inspection, testing, and verification during the build process
