Sales Manager – Capital Equipment Selling high-value capital equipment across the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East and Africa.) Base Salary: £60,000 – £65,000 (negotiable) + Competitive commission structure. Benefits: Healthcare Scheme, Company Pension, Life Assurance and additional group benefits. Location: Home-based anywhere in the UK, provided you are within reasonable travelling distance of a major airport. Travel: Approximately 30%, including international travel across EMEA. The Opportunity An opportunity to join a large international engineering group as a Sales Manager, responsible for developing capital equipment sales across the EMEA region. The business designs and supplies high-value capital equipment into the food processing industry, with typical project values ranging from approximately £300,000 to £1 million. This is a highly autonomous, customer-facing role suited to someone who enjoys developing new business, identifying opportunities and managing technically complex sales projects from initial enquiry through to order. Key Responsibilities: * Develop new business opportunities across the EMEA food processing market. * Identify and engage with prospective customers and develop long-term commercial relationships. * Understand customer applications, processes and technical requirements. * Work closely with internal engineering and applications teams to develop technically suitable solutions and commercial proposals. * Manage opportunities through the complete sales cycle, from initial prospecting and technical discussions through to negotiation and order placement. * Present technical and commercial proposals to customers and key decision-makers. * Negotiate contracts, pricing and commercial terms. * Develop relationships with both new and existing customers across the region. * Manage your own sales pipeline, priorities, and workload with a high degree of autonomy. Candidate Profile We are looking for an experienced technical sales professional with a strong background in selling engineered equipment, machinery or capital equipment. The successful candidate should: * Demonstrate a genuine strength in new business development. * Have a strong technical mindset, with the ability to understand customer applications, processes and technical requirements. * Be able to translate customer requirements into clear briefs for internal engineering teams. * Sell complex, high-value technical solutions on a consultative basis. * Build strong relationships with customers and key stakeholders. * Demonstrate strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills. * Communicate and present confidently at all levels. * Manage a geographically broad territory and sales pipeline effectively. * Work independently and take ownership of their region, workload and priorities. Ideal Background Experience selling capital equipment, industrial machinery, processing equipment would be particularly relevant. Previous exposure to the food processing, food manufacturing or wider process industries would be advantageous, although candidates from adjacent manufacturing sectors with experience selling technical capital equipment would also be considered.
