We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join a specialist machinery manufacturer, working on the mechanical fitting, assembly and build of new bespoke equipment, refurbishment of used machinery, and occasional customer-site installations.
The company has a full order book for the next two years, continued growth, and plenty of paid overtime available at enhanced overtime rates for candidates who want to increase their earnings.
As Mechanical Engineer / Mechanical Fitter, you’ll be mainly involved in:
- Building and assembling new bespoke production and process machinery
- Carrying out mechanical fitting, hand fitting, assembly and adjustment work
- Building sub-assemblies and full machinery assemblies
- Installing mechanical components onto machinery builds
- Setting clearances and making mechanical adjustments
- Working with conveyors, guarding, pneumatics and mechanical drive systems
- Reading and working from engineering drawings
- Supporting occasional customer-site installations, helping to install and commission the bespoke machinery you have built in-house.
We’re interested in speaking with candidates who have experience in mechanical fitting, machinery assembly, bench fitting or mechanical build work.
Experience as a Mechanical Engineer / Mechanical Fitter, Mechanical Assembler, Bench Fitter or similar:
- Good ability to read and understand engineering drawings
- Experience building or assembling machinery, production equipment or mechanical systems
- Experience working with shafts, bearings, gearboxes, drive systems or mechanical assemblies
