Simtec Materials Testing, a Phenna Group company, is expanding, and we’re looking for a dynamic Business Development Manager to drive growth in our Midlands to North London region. If you’re a tenacious, results-driven sales professional with experience in construction materials testing or a related field, this is a fantastic opportunity to join a market-leading team.
About the Role
As a Business Development Manager, you’ll play a critical role in winning new business, building strong client relationships, and helping Simtec achieve its ambitious growth targets. You’ll focus on construction sites and key decision-makers, generating leads, managing the full sales cycle, and securing long-term contracts.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively identify and develop new business opportunities within construction, civil engineering, and materials testing sectors.
- Engage with decision-makers on construction sites, presenting Simtec’s materials testing services.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through regular site visits and follow-ups.
- Work towards ambitious revenue targets and contribute to the company’s growth strategy.
- Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation to contract negotiation and deal closure.
- Provide accurate sales forecasts and reports to management.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven UK field sales experience – Ideally in construction materials testing or a related sector (civil construction, geotechnical, concrete, asphalt).
- Self-motivated & target-driven – You thrive on meeting and exceeding sales targets.
- Resilient & tenacious – You’re patient, persistent, and strategic in your approach.
- Excellent communication & relationship-building skills – Comfortable working in a construction site environment.
- Full UK driving license – Maximum 6 points.
- Right to Work in the UK – Sponsorship is not available for this role.
