We’re looking for a Junior Graphic Designer to join our creative team and help us deliver brilliant day-to-day design work for our clients. Sims Creative is a strategic design and branding agency focused on the energy, cleantech, and EV sectors. We work with ambitious B2B brands on everything from brand identity and campaigns to ongoing design support (our Creative as a Service model). The work is varied – from decks and digital assets through to brand roll-outs and exhibition graphics – and we’re ready to bring in someone at the start of their design career who wants to grow with us.

You’ll report into our Head of Design and work closely with the wider studio team – supporting on changes, artwork, and smaller projects, while building your skills and confidence on bigger briefs over time. Whether you’re a recent graduate or you’ve got up to a couple of years’ experience, we’re looking for enthusiasm, potential, and a genuine love of design.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Executing day-to-day design amends and producing artwork across print and digital
  • Laying out documents such as presentations, brochures, case studies, and reports
  • Creating assets for campaigns – social graphics, email visuals, simple web/digital assets
  • Preparing print-ready artwork and helping to ensure files meet specs and guidelines
  • Working within brand guidelines to keep everything consistent and on-brand
  • Supporting senior designers on larger projects (e.g. brand roll-outs, exhibitions, campaigns)
  • Taking feedback from the Head of Design and wider team, and refining your work accordingly
  • Helping gather visual references, mood boards and typographic/layout inspiration
  • Experimenting with new tools and technologies (including AI) where appropriate

You’ll be supported with:

  • A clear skills matrix so you know what “good” looks like at junior level and how to progress
  • Hands-on mentoring from the Head of Design and other designers
  • Structured feedback on live projects plus occasional practice exercises to sharpen layout and typography
  • Established client brands, guidelines, and templates to work within while you build confidence
  • A friendly, collaborative studio environment where questions are encouraged

What we’re looking for:

  • Early-stage designer (roughly 0–2 years’ experience in a studio or in-house team, or strong graduate portfolio)
  • Confident using Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop as a minimum)
  • A good eye for layout, typography and detail – or clear potential to develop this quickly
  • Ability to follow brand guidelines and work systematically on artwork and amends
  • Openness to feedback and a willingness to iterate until the work is right
  • Genuine enthusiasm for design – you’re curious, keen to learn, and happy to get stuck into the “small” jobs as well as the larger ones
  • Organised, reliable and able to manage your time against agreed deadlines
  • Positive, down-to-earth attitude and alignment with our values: creativity, empathy, and clarity

In return, expect:

  • Competitive salary (depending on experience)
  • Hybrid working with regular time in our Loughborough studio
  • A grounded, supportive team with no big egos
  • The chance to work on real client projects across brand, print and digital
  • Clear progression opportunities as your skills and confidence grow
