Tweed Valley Maltings, Berwick-upon-Tweed
Hours: Initial day shifts and then our 4-shift continental pattern.
Carrying out planned, reactive and improvement maintenance across a wide range of production equipment. Using your electrical and mechanical skills to diagnose faults, repair breakdowns and keep the plant running safely. Working with motors, gearboxes, bearings, three-phase systems and VSDs. Using our computerised maintenance management system to complete work orders and support continuous improvement. Contributing to small engineering projects and reliability improvements. Supporting safe working practices and strong communication across the shift.
Simpsons Malt operates a Substance Misuse Policy and testing will be undertaken upon commencement of employment, with random testing thereafter.
Key Attributes:- A solid mix of industrial electrical and mechanical skills.
- Experience in a production or processing environment (apprentice-trained preferred).
- Logical fault-finding ability and a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
- Familiarity with programmable logical controllers (PLCs) would be an advantage, but training can be provided.
- A safety-first approach and a willingness to learn our processes.
Salary up to £56,000 per annum. Company pension plan (minimum contributions 6% employer / 2% employee). 31 days holiday (260 hours) including bank holidays, increasing with service. Employee benefits package including medical and dental cashback plan. Learning and development opportunities.
