Craigswalls Grain Store, Scottish Borders

Hours: 7am-7pm & 7pm-7am - This includes weekend work.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for operating the grain drying plant safely and efficiently.
  • Ensuring barley is conditioned correctly in line with our process control plans.
  • Carrying out routine cleaning, monitoring, and basic upkeep of the plant.
  • Cleaning and preparing grain sheds prior to harvest intake.
  • General housekeeping and maintaining high cleanliness standards across the site.
  • Carrying out routine checks and reporting faults or maintenance issues promptly.

Key requirements:

  • Flexibility with working hours.
  • Commitment to maintaining high health, safety and housekeeping standards.
  • Ability to work safely under pressure during busy harvest periods.
  • Willingness to undertake physically demanding work in an industrial agricultural environment.
  • Basic computer skills, especially when programming equipment and ensuring machine controls are set correctly.
  • Reliable and self-motivated.
  • Good team player.
  • Be able to work without supervision.
  • Previous grain drying or agricultural machinery experience is beneficial but not essential.
