Simpsons Malt are the UK’s leading, independent malting Company, with 150+ years of successful supply to brewers and distillers with a customer range from the smallest craft & micro brewers to multi-nationals in the UK and around the world.
Our Tivetshall Maltings site, between Norwich and Diss, has and continues to receive significant investment. Its USP is in the production of a range of quality speciality and base malts for the brewing industry, with an increasing export business. This is a challenging production site, with 7X24 processing and a wide range of plant and equipment.
You would be part of a team of operators and material handlers that can be monitoring complex machinery, checking quality and/or driving FLT's and site based LGV's to move grain through the process, or load for dispatch.
Responsibilities and DutiesThese jobs require flexibility as you move round the site and undertake different tasks, though there are some dedicated driving roles. The shifts involve working 5 days out of 7 on a flexible shift pattern normally between the hours of 6 am - 6 pm for 47 hours a week.
Qualifications and SkillsThe site is safety and quality driven and so the way work is done is just as important as producing the numbers to satisfy customer demands. Experience of SCADA, HMI or PLC controlled equipment would be advantageous. The role requires a reasonable level of personal fitness due to the manual handling tasks involved although these are constantly being reviewed and due to the nature of the business not all tasks can be automated.

The successful candidate will receive a salary related to their experience that also includes a Company Bonus, generous life assurance, pension benefits and holiday increasing with service up to 34 days inclusive of Bank Holidays.
