This is an exciting opportunity for a Paralegal to join our Public Law and Human Rights team, supporting the team with a diverse caseload.
The team advises and represents clients across a range of matters, including:
- Public Law Judicial Reviews
- Community Care and Children’s Rights Judicial Reviews
- Inquests
- Claims against Public Authorities
Key responsibilities:
- Drafting and reviewing documents (including correspondence, witness statements)
- Preparation of bundles
- Completing legal aid forms and applications, dealing with the LAA
- New client enquiries
- File opening process
- Communicating with clients and other parties by phone and in person
- Taking detailed attendance notes
- Attending court
- Legal research
- Billing of files
- Exercising sensitivity when dealing with vulnerable clients
Key Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
- A law degree
- Experience in public and or human rights law and a good understanding of the LAA
- Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work with clients in an empathetic manner
