Our Public Law area is highly renowned across the country which gives us access to referrers of high-quality work. We’re a Chambers and Legal 500 ranked firm within this specialist area of law, so you’re going to be working alongside fellow experts in their field.
Role and Responsibilities:
- To conduct a mixed caseload of public law cases at all stages of the process from pre-action stage through to trial.
- Prior experience of conducting a publicly funded caseload and detailed knowledge of legal aid.
- Excellent client care skills and ability to work with vulnerable clients.
- Ability to identify and meet deadlines (including limitation deadlines) and manage and prioritise work effectively.
- Participation in the development, marketing and success of the team including building relationships with our existing referrers in the region and developing relationships with new referral sources.
- Contributing to success of the team through participation in team meetings and knowledge building and sharing.
- All aspects of good file keeping.
- Working with the firm’s case management system, databases and normal office IT systems.
- Attending training (both internal and external) as required.
- Commitment to diversity and equal opportunities.
- Prior experience of public law Judicial Review or community care Judicial Reviews is essential.
- Additional experience in claims against public authorities would be desirable.
