As part of continued growth, they are looking to recruit a Solicitor to manage a caseload of pre- and post-litigated breach of agreement matters arising from housing conditions claims.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of pre- and post-litigation breach of agreement matters on behalf of tenants
- Draft applications relating to breach of agreement and specific performance
- Prepare and issue Part 8 proceedings where appropriate
- Review and analyse expert surveyor reports
- Negotiate settlements and assess damages
- Liaise with Counsel and prepare court bundles and instructions
- Handle matters relating to access and decant issues
- Utilise a case management system effectively and ensure compliance with internal processes
- Maintain excellent client communication throughout the lifecycle of a claim
- Build positive working relationships across departments
- Assist with additional duties as required to support business operations
Candidate Requirements
- Applicants must be qualified Solicitors with experience managing their own litigated caseloads
- While previous Housing Disrepair Breach of Contract experience is desirable, candidates from other high-volume litigation backgrounds, such as personal injury, will also be considered
- The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Ability to bill work at Grade C level or above
- Experience using a case management system in a volume litigation environment
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Experience managing competing priorities and deadlines
- Strong attention to detail
- High levels of self-motivation and professionalism
- Good IT proficiency
